I don't have any use for VOIP etc.
They are extremely cheap compared to the landline calls.
In my case:
Telstra:
Local calls: 50cents

National calls to standard fixed lines
Call connection fee: 49c per call

Per Minute Rate:
25c per minute
************************************
Mynetfone, Pennytel, Skype:

About 3 cents per minute to fixed lines
About 10 cents minimum

I can use them from my PC or my smartphone

Just commenting here that one filtered outlet might be a little impedance mis-matched with a stack of phone devices.
Each device also has an inline filter between the socket and the device, eg, Fax, Foxtel, Landline Phone. So basically, main line in, Mainline splitter, Filtered line to devices, a secondary individual filter on each device.

But there again there is a distinct possibility that they have stuffed the redirect too, going on their current and past performance.

Guess what ? ( no, not him. ) :poke Rang them and got them to check the redirect, yep you got it right, had to get them to do it again. At least the guy rang my home to check the redirect this time. Sigh. :rolleyes

Speaking of Phones, My new phone arrived yesterday.
So far, I'm very happy with it. Enter in my Gmail account and all my contacts are loaded instantly and in the categories that I had set up on my old phone.
Love the LED light on the front screen that flashes to show missed calls and messages. It even flashes a different colour for calls, messages and etc.
Nice screen , much deeper colours than old phone.
Only pain is that I have to manually transfer all my diary entries for work..

Congrats, looks good!
Especially: Dual SIM card dual standby,
two micro SIM card

Yes, It does say that, but it isn't.
It takes 1 mini sim and 1 micro sim.
Lucky for me as my old Voda mini sim is just that, can't make it smaller. However the Aldi mini sim can also be a micro sim, so all is good in the world ! :thumbs_up
And tonight I was with some friends and discovered my phone has a better camera than the Samsung Galaxy S5. On specs, the S5 'should' be better, but in the real world, the Samsung couldn't match mine in low light, and my pics seem to have much nicer detail and vivid colours in full sun.. Very surprised !!! :satisfied
Battery is also good. Made a few calls, sent lots of TXTs and took lots of photos. It's now after midnight and battery is sitting on 64%.

At present using a Vodafone dongle to post this.
Sorry to hear of the Telstra-o-rama ride you are involved in TeeEm!
So basically, main line in, Mainline splitter, Filtered line to devices, a secondary individual filter on each device.
This is double filtering every device in parallel on the one filtered outlet. Planets have exploded for less mis-wiring!

Mind you. I have seen stuff like this before...

But it works ! :satisfied
Yes. Though there is optimal, suboptimal, and lousy, in the spectrum of "it works!"

:lmao:

You could simply disconnect the single cable that goes to every phone widget in your house,
reboot the modem, and do some speed, sync, and download tests to see if it makes any substantial difference or not. It may not - but it's worth the very simple test to see...

So does my phone too now. :cool

It turned out that back when we had that noisy line earlier in the year due to rain ingress into the pit the 1st tech just routed us onto a new pair to fix the problem.
When they decided last Friday to fit a complete new junction for the street and reconnected all the pairs unfortunately they didn't know that one of those pairs (at least) was not going where it used to. :furious
So once things were put back as they were meant to 6 days later by someone who knew what to do after diagnosing the problem from my explanation we had a connection. :thumbs_up
Rang billing and told them the whole gory story and requested a refund, after a lot of negotiations I got $13 for loss of phone $19 for dongle recharge and $20 for using my mobile credit for 6 days.
Didn't get the $1000 for aggravation and stress using the Manilla maze. :poke

I can't do that. I don't fit through the ceiling anymore. :tearful Manhole is at 1 end of ceiling, and junction box is at the futherest end of the ceiling, about 27 meters away. We have a long house. And in between is the A/C unit in the ceiling with ducting going everywhere that effectively cuts access. . Wish I was a worm !
Had to take a sheet of roof iron off to put it in, but I can't do that now as the roof now has Solar panels on it... :crying:
