Flu

Oh oh! Mrs misi has a fever and is weak? Keep the ambulance on speed dial misi!

People were saying that the cough can last 4 weeks and more. Brisbane B flu is what someone was saying it is, and is not covered in the Flu shot that people have had this year. :tearful

"We've had a particularly bad flu season. [It's] not just more cases but sicker patients.

Much, much sicker...:tearful

Mrs misi going to the doctor tomorrow early morning.
She's still coughing and her back hurts.

Non-Doctor Foxi has an idea that all the coughing has slipped a joint a little bit in her back.
I'm sorry to hear Mrs misi is feeling so poorly - the forums I've read where they mention this bad strain of the flu is that the coughing lasts for 4 weeks or more.

It's a good idea to take her for a checkup - secondary infections and dislocations etc could be involved too.

In case you've never used one - a bulk-bill locum service operates from 6pm to 6am if Mrs misi is really uncomfortable, and you could get a pathology form to have a test done without needing to wait in the doctor surgery, or medicine that you can get at the late night chemists (one in Brunswick I think) and any results get sent to her doctor.

Or the locum may recommend ED if it's serious.

They may be common knowledge and everyone knows about it - I don't know - I just know that I've had to use them a number of times.

The way I look at it, if more antibiotics are needed then 12 hours earlier means relief will eventually start 12 hours earlier too - and waiting to see a doc, when you're as crook as a dog, can be postponed.

I hope all goes well misi.

Thanks guys!

My employer agreed to give me a few months off from my long service leave, that should be enough to take care of Mrs misi.
I'll do all what I can do. I hope that I won't need that leave all, a few weeks should be enough and after that enjoy the rest.

Gosh - the back pain is quite severe by the sounds of the preparations. :tearful

The Doctor almost agreed to the Non-Doctor Foxi: The problem lays in the muscles from the cough.

Voltaren 50 for inflammation and Panadeine Forte for the pain.
Warm bath or shower.
Back in two days if necessary, then probably scan.

She's not taking the Panadeine.

I hope the voltaren helps quickly and I hope some form of painkiller is making her comfortable.
Someone once said that there is no bravery award for enduring pain...

Did the doc mention constipation?
Mum takes co-senna for that due to pain killers - it's over-the-counter stuff at the chemist if it becomes needed.

Did the doc mention constipation?
No, he did not.
Unfortunately we remember Panadeine Forte's effect, so she is worried about it.
The pain is not constant, it's bad when she bends, sits down, gets up or coughs.

Thank you, I'll remember that, she won't need it in the next two days.
