"Putting those cheap RC toys you can find at a department store—and even the model kits from a hobby shop—to shame, these incredibly detailed scale model fighter jets look almost as intense to fly as the real thing. In fact, racing through the skies they're almost impossible to distinguish from the real thing too."

Maybe Terminal velocity, when it's driven offa a cliff. :wink2:

Sorry matee, my car-fetish genes aren't highly developed.
Maybe it's because the first car our family had was the Morris 1100 I bought second hand - but gee it was fun.

Nice shiny car! I bet you too drove everywhere and petrol was cheap.
Did lots of trips once upon a time. 55cpl I think when I got my car.
Now a days, Every time I fill up is a reminder of why I never go anywhere except work.. :eek

The pics of the 808 are the closest I could find to the car I had. It was red like the top pic, though was brown when I bought it.

The body was from the superceeded Mazda RX3. Front and back end lighting was different.
Body sides and upholstery were the same .

I recall 17 cpl in 1979 and did a lot of city traveling from one side to the other - a few country trips too.
Hardly spent an evening at home as I was out with friends.

You never go anywhere coz you're a dad and work lots, and there's always stuff to be done at home - right?

I am pretty certain the servo across the road was 17 cpl the year that I started college, after I left the railways. Memory is a fickle thing though and I can't recall any other year specifically.

Found this chart of historical pump pricing left column ..

Seems I was pretty close with 1980 price, but totally out with the price when I got my car which was in 1982.
No wonder I drove it so much on purely sightseeing trips as fuel was around 39 cpl.
Arrrr, Now I see. It was 55 cpl when I started my current job. :shame
