What have I done?

I wonder if someone can help me....or should I post in aaNet forum? (don't really wanna post it there....lol).
I have just paid a subscription to fileserve.com. Before that I could download as a free user, but since I have upgraded to a paid subs. , I cannot get to this site. The pages just time out with me getting:

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.fileserve.com/
The following error was encountered:

This has me buggered as I could get to there before, but not now since I signed up. Checked with Firefox, Safari amd Chrome. None work. Swapped modems, and all.
All other browsing is good.....except for just this site.
Looks like I've done my money. :tearful

I can get there with my connection, without problem.
How do you remember, can you change password there?

If you do and you give me a link to upload or download I can try it with the password.
You change it after the trial.

No, misi....I can't get there......is ok, and thanks for the offer.
Not me mac either, TeeEm.....lol. :wink2:
I was in two minds as whether to go to fileserve or filesonic. Rapidshare has now shot itself in the foot.....as has hotfile. I had an account with both, but they are losing customers fast and not many use them any more.
I should have gone with filesonic. :tearful
I do a lot of downloading, so it pays for me to have a premium account as I can have no waiting multiple downloads at faster speeds.
I only joined for 30 days, so when the 30 days is up, I might? be able to get back in there as before.
It only cost me $10.
Thanks anyway for your thoughts. Strange things happen, I s'pose. :happy

Foxi is right. (thank you!) :happy
Never had to use Vtunnel before....but it works. Got in to change password.
I have sophos anti virus (dunno why)...I'll remove it for starters.
No firewall here......only the one in modem - would that be right? That shouldn't stop it?

But using Vtunnel won't get me direct downloads from forums, etc.

Edit: Removed AV, but still the same. Never mind. :tearful
Now- editing takes ages here - and got that bloody lusca thingy again.

Apple firewall is off, and always has been, misi.....thanks. :wink2:

AV off,firewall off...
Can you borrow a lappy from someone and check your downloads with it?
If it gives you the same result than I think the aaProxi is playing with you.

A bit hard, but might give that a go when I can get hold of one. Good idea, misi....thank you. :wink2:
That would tell me.

Okee, try putting a different aanet proxy in your browser proxy section, assuming your browser connect to the site to do the downloading.

There was a list of aanet proxies

maybe change the number below to 1,2,3,4 etc.

proxy5.mel.dft.com.au

and there's also

proxy1.syd.dft.com.au
proxy2.syd.dft.com.au

etc and maybe similar for other states.

ping the url with different numbers/states and if you get a response then try it in your browser.

The above looks ok?

Oops! Asks for a port. Damn!
Not used to doing these things.....'specially on a mac.

You got a reply so the address is live. I think you want to use port 80.

I don't think it is anythiing on your side, I'd be making a complaint to the provider, informing them, that you can not get to a site that you are a member of and that it all appears to be an issue with the ISP's proxy, get them to look into it.

Might have to do that too. Thank you Spyke. I'm about to give up. I get there in Vtunnel and log in ok, then it says not logged in....then I get in and my account is paid up, etc. S**t of a site anyway as they make things so hard when trying to do anything in there. Thanks! :happy

Edit: Sent a request to aaNet now.

Got message back:

We will need to assign an unproxied IP address.

Please do reply to confirm if that will be fine.

Thanks!

Kind Regards,
Praveen Krishnan
Would that be ok if I say 'yes'?
