What was enhanced is that you can quote small parts of a post easily, plus quote small parts of multiple posts easily.

I have no problem with that. It's working well for me - does anyone else have any serious complaint with the LG forum?
I can see from their comments that they want to build again and add better ways of development.
It seems to me that there would be very little benefit for a cozy forum from an updated system - maybe for places with 500+ users the benefits may be more apparent.
I'm happy to stick with what is working well.
