I set a search here - there are some lovely ones, and Irfanview can resize a bunch as a batch.
They are lovely!
Is it possible to resize only their width OR their height ?

I have Corel, it resizes(resample) them in both direction, have to crop them after that...

Was that when you were in training ? :poke
My job as a lunatic didn't need any training - I was born that way! :poke

Yes, you can specify both width and height, or either one of them and keep the aspect ratio.

The GUI has a batch feature to process entire folders etc, or a batch file could also be written to handle it.

EDIT: Do you mean can you crop them? Chopping parts off the top/bottom/left/right ?

If I keep the aspect ratio than the height will be too large.

So yes have to chop off the top or the bottom or both of them.
The height is 450 pixels.
Lets say I want the height to be 250 pixels.
With Corel I crop the top and the bottom, becoming 257 pixels.
Crop again, becoming 246 pixels...
That is the hard part.

With one image it's possible to do it in a few minutes but with many images it's frustrating.

I had a play in Ifranview - here's how you can set the cropping to use the centre of the image and then remove the top and bottom evenly so that the image is 250 pixels tall. You set an output folder to keep the originals - and I generally use 80 compression factor in the JPG settings, which gives a pretty reasonable image for the filesize.

It will process an entire folder full - and more if you want to.
