New printer

You don't load any drivers if you set up the wireless using the printer buttons.
It doesn't change anything on the computers or your tablet/touchscreen/phones and it is only changing wireless settings inside the printer itself.

Edit: Check this misi - the WPS method with pin number or pushbutton is a far easier way to set up the wireless on the printer itself. It's automatic once the scanning happens and the modem and printer get to pow-wow between themsleves. Leave the wireless settings as they are in the modem.

If you haven't seen it before then it's generally a setting in the modem setup, or a button on the outside of the modem that starts the WPS - and the printer end setting to detect WPS is started first.

If it does work then you could print from all your devices to the printer (after you load drivers on the other machines).

I shoved this down here for storage.

You can set up the wireless security on the printer at the same time - it's just that using so many button presses with passwords etc can end up with a typo, and the wireless will seem like it isn't working.

Once it is working then add the wireless password and encryption back inside the modem, and the printer and test it.

This assumes that it does end up working.

Yes, the entry is there.
There is a symbol on devices that are there but are not set up correctly - it's a yellow icon with ! symbol inside it.

I am only making this point because I can't see the icon.

Actually there are two points of failure with hardware. The ! icon you see below indicates a problem with the driver starting, and the question mark with the ! means the drivers are not loaded.

Thanks, Foxi for the tips.

Those printers make too much headache.
The scanner is terribly slow with Wi-Fi, took 20 minutes to scan one page.
Going to use it with the old USB cable because they did not give one with the new printer.

The touchscreen wasn't enough to break, now Excel and Word stopped working.
Quick repair: did not help.
Full repair: did not help
Uninstalling and reinstalling: did not help.

They became useless.
Grrr...

Then I started to search what could cause them to stop.
Found it: Abbyy FineReader installed with the Epson software.
Disabled it in Word-Excel and they became fine.

When I'll have time to play with the old Workforce I'll try your suggestion.

ok.

Some setting has to be wrong there as 20 minutes is bizarre.

Some possibilities could be:

1 & 2) The scanner could be set to a massive resolution, or no compression of the data it has to send so it sends 100 times as much data and takes 100 times longer.

3) The wireless speed could be working with an older wireless standard, which is a setting change.

4) Wireless channel congestion with neighbours sharing your wireless channel.

But having a gander over a remote link would be useful.

A friend once said that was the best OCR tool you can get.

The default is 300, wanted to scan with 720.

I know that it's good, used to scan documents with the help of it.

Add-ins that may cause problems with Office 2013
Earlier versions of these add-ins are known to cause problems with Office 2013 applications:

I have version 9, cannot upgrade to 12 without paying for it.

power cycle the printer ~weekly, it gives the heads a little flush and then clean, this doesn't use as much ink as a regular head clean and prevents clotting/blocking..
That's good for the printer!:thumbsup4:

Sad that when I switch it on to scan it starts using ink.:noway:

Have to buy some black ink for it.

The WorkForce survived.
