Neat. Thanks for that link misi.

To the Exchange:

Estimated Cable: 3217 m
Estimated Attenuation: 45
Estimated Maximum Speed: 5666

Estimated Attenuation: 7
Estimated Maximum Speed: 24000

However, I know of one exchange, that is atleast 2km's out. I know the exact location of it, yet the map shows it to be in a totally different location ??

Can you find a photo of that exchange or the one 507 meters away?

I can't find mine, might upload it next week.

I have been going to go and take a pic of our exchange for a couple of weeks now :poke so I can upload it. Just haven't got around to it :shame

The exchange that is located incorrectly, will have to wait till we go down to visit my parents again. It is the Tarraville exchange, in South Gippsland. Or I could get my parents to take one for me ??

It should be where the red dot is, not where the little green marker is ??

Same here.

Pretty cool that the detailed summary actually points to your house.

Estimated Cable: 2250 m
Estimated Attenuation: 32
Estimated Maximum Speed: 12000

Seems pretty accurate except my modem and other sources suggest I'll get slightly higher speeds, hope I find out one day drool

I believe that you should get faster then 2500 with ADSL2:

What the hell is that attenuation number?
Higher or lower is better?

SNR(noise margin)?

(electricity) The exponential decrease with distance in the amplitude of an electrical signal traveling along a very long uniform transmission line, due to conductor and dielectric losses.
Meh... It's Japanese...

The SNR margin can only be measured from your own property and therefore to be measured correctly may need an engineer visit to check this figure from the BT test socket behind your master phone socket. Your SNR Margin can fluctuate on a day to day basis and may vary depending upon local equipment, conditions and interference.

Huh? Is that SNR margin female? :?
