Its been nothing but roses lately for us coffee drinkers needing a scientific reason to validate our habit. The past couple weeks have yielded no less than four separate studies on the beneficial health effects of drinking coffee: reducing the risk of liver cancer, protection from age-related memory decline, cutting the risk of colon cancer in half, and caffeine + exercise might contribute to lower risk of skin cancer. With all these "real" benefits coming to light, it is amusing to discover that coffee (while once maligned as a bad habit) was once touted as a ground-breaking treatment for the Plague in 18th century Europe. Guess what? It didn't work.

Well,you don't like coffee?:tearful
Have a Ceylonese,Russian,Chinese tea!:wink2:

Let us guess: You don't drink tea either...
Meh...
Are you 18+ ? Problem solved! We have beer, wine, brandy for the adults!:satisfied

After water, coffee is the world’s most popular beverage with more than 400 billion cups consumed annually, or so Ubercool tells me. A decade ago, global coffee retail sales amounted to US$30 billion. Today, sales top US$70 billion. With all that in mind, Coca-Cola, MaccieDs and Starbucks are going head-to-head, or cup-to-cup in an all out attack on coffee consisseurs tastebuds…

I'd never heard of Blak before - wikipedia told me it is coffee flavoured... it's still got a lot of sugar, 3 teaspoons in 240ml

I quite like the coke zero now, it's still not good for the teeth but it isn't laden with sugar and calories.

A sample from the gelato allegedly served to a family at Sydney's Coogee Bay Hotel earlier this month has tested positive for faecal matter, the NSW Food Authority has announced.
- Gelato, faecal matter tested
- Security footage reviewed
- Further tests underway
The sample, a small residual amount of gelato and faecal matter on a tissue, was provided by Stephen and Jessica Whyte earlier this week.
The NSW Food Authority began an investigation yesterday and carried out a brief test which confirmed the nature of the provided sample.
They will now perform a more detailed DNA-based test which will determine if the faecal matter is animal or human, and the sex of the "provider".
The results of that test will not be known for up to a week.
Security camera footage from the incident, shortly before 6pm on October 5, has been reviewed by the Authority, the hotel's kitchen has been inspected and staff and the Whyte family have been spoken to.
