Much of country Victoria is facing a total fire ban with the temperature tipped to reach 39C.
The Country Fire Authority (CFA) has declared a total fire ban for the Mallee, North Central, Northern Country, Wimmera and South West districts on Sunday.

WA
A mid-40C scorcher will see a total fire ban for around 2600 residents on the northern WA coast, while 6000 people in the state's Pilbara region are bracing for severe fire danger.
The Shire of Exmouth, in the coastal region of Gascoyne about 1000km north of Perth, has been placed on a total fire ban on Sunday by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES).
All open air fires are banned, and hot work such as metal welding and grinding is not allowed without an exemption. The DFES has warned that those who flout the ban face fines of up $25,000 and/or up to 12 months in jail.

This heatwawe is hitting Tasmania hard:

The east coast holiday town of Coles Bay was isolated on Saturday afternoon by a fire the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) has upgraded to "very high risk" emergency warning.
More than a dozen properties have been lost south of Bicheno, and Coles Bay Road, south of Apsley River, and the Tasman Highway, south of Tower Hill, are at risk.
The Tasman Peninsula fire that claimed at least 80 properties and left thousands of people isolated on Friday night was still burning out of control on Saturday afternoon.
The main access road, the Arthur Highway, remained closed. Police and commercial boats were being used to ferry in supplies and ferry out people most in need.

I still remember helping in the Tasmanian bushfires on in February 1967........that was bad. Poor buggers have lost everything in these fires too. I just feel for them as I know what it's like to lose everything in a fire. :tearful

A reply from our CFA volly neighbor when I asked about our resident firebug:

I haven't seen him. The dickhead said he didn't see what the problem is.

Bylaws took photos of all his little burn off patches and said he will be getting a huge fine and CFA are looking into charging him for the turn out of 7 units :happy

Jail is an option if he doesn't pay his fines, and he's known to be one not to pay fines. *here's hoping*

The CFA Fire Danger Period is active tomorrow. NO BURNOFFS, none, zero, YAY! :happy

He sounds like a dangerous fellow to live next door to. In the suburbs you'd only have to put up with odd and/or aggressive behaviour.
With fire... and country settings... yikes!

He is aggressive too, as I mentioned in the other post. I don't appreciate threats of physical violence OR my wife being called those things.

He has 2 'friends' locally, 1 French with a record like his and another just as shady as those 2.

A car like his was reported as watching kiddies in a school ground. When I saw the description I called 000. I got a call from the local plods about it and they said they were aware of him, as well as with fires, theft, burglary, assault and being Polish in a public place, which should be a jailable offence on it's own.
