I have a huge problem with browsing for two days.

IE,FF are dead, cannot browse with them at all.
Vista,XP(Two PCs) cannot automagically solve the problem, something is wrong with the DNS.
Checking the modem:connected.

Rang support.
Modem is connected to them, they can see me online.
Trying with another modem and cable:same result.

Factory reset the modems:did not help.

Changing the default values in the modem did not help.
(from pppoe to pppoa and the DNS to xxx.... to xxy...)

Line problem is going to be reported to Telstra.
Until they move is there anything I could do?:?

BTW the staff at aanet were very helpful.

First check if it *is* a DNS problem by pinging 203.24.100.2 and see if you can get replies.

Then ping www.aanet.com.au and see if you get a reply.

I'm not sure why you have 127.0.0.1 in your DNS setting...

I do not have it,Foxi,it 's been greyed out. It's only an option in MY browser.
Please check the attachment.
Should I have a similar to this reply displayed on the screen:

I have got the results:
First check if it *is* a DNS problem by pinging 203.24.100.2 and see if you can get replies.

Request timed out

Then ping www.aanet.com.au and see if you get a reply.

Ping request could not find host www.aanet.com.au

Could a firewall lock out the whole router from the net?

That shows you do not have connectivity with the Internet. Nothing to do with the DNS at this stage. Can you ping the router?

And yes, a firewall can block a PC or the entire LAN, and a local firewall on a PC can block the router/internet.

The codes were dropped from the line.
Why?
Cost $69 to reinstate.
Why?

They promised to ring me back tomorrow.
I told them that I'll ring them back in an hour.

Could not they tell me it a week ago?

I would want to know why the codes were removed too. Surely aaNot have information about their customers being removed...
