Bee sting

My finger start recovering from a bee "bite".
For two days it was almost paralyzed from a bee's sting.
I helped the little bugger to get out from a bucket of water.
To become this bad has never happened to me.

Once a honey bee has used its 'sting', it will die.

When a honey bee stings a person, it cannot pull the barbed stinger back out. It leaves behind not only the stinger, but also part of its abdomen and digestive tract, plus muscles and nerves. This massive abdominal rupture kills the honey bee. Honey bees are the only species of bees to die after stinging.

I hope it's not some half-assed affair. :lmao:

Would you call it that? :waiting:

Actually I was referring "tongue in cheek" to the condition of the Bee for the funeral after the attack. :poke

That's a nasty reaction alright. I wonder if it was an allergic reaction or if the sting affected a nerve or something.

The lady here has a life-threatening allergy to bee stings - and I think many people have that kind of allergy.

Same here. The last event was on the back of her forearm, the large swelling was from wrist to elbow and took a few days to go down.

Personally, I have never had a problem with them, once even got one on my tongue, yup, really, no problems, a bit of sting, rip it out, get on with it. Same when I brushed a bush full of them, got heaps of stings, ripped 'em out, kept going. Guess I'm lucky that way.
