Those who want the latest browser features even if it means a rough ride on the Web have a new option from Microsoft: a developer-channel version of its Internet Explorer browser.
The new version, announced and released Monday, follows similar moves by the teams building Google's Chrome, Mozilla's Firefox, and Opera Software's Opera. Those developer-channel releases aren't even as stable as beta versions, but they do let Web programmers test new Web technology and offer feedback before it reaches the broader public.
"Today we're excited to announce the release of the Internet Explorer Developer Channel, a fully functioning browser designed to give Web developers and early adopters a sneak peek at the Web platform features we're working on," Microsoft said in a blog post.
...

The developer version of IE requires Windows 7.1 SP1 or Windows 8.1, and the latest stable version of the browser, IE11, also must be installed, Microsoft said. The Developer Channel version doesn't overwrite IE11, though.

It's time to play with it a little.:happy

Microsoft may be creating entirely new browser with Windows 10

There's been talk for a while that Microsoft will make some big changes to Internet Explorer in the Windows 10 time frame, making IE "Spartan" look and feel more like Chrome and Firefox.
It turns out that what's actually happening is Microsoft is building a new browser, codenamed Spartan, which is not IE 12 -- at least according to a couple of sources of mine.
...

Spartan is still going to use Microsoft's Chakra JavaScript engine and Microsoft's Trident rendering engine (not WebKit), sources say. As Neowin's Brad Sams reported back in September, the coming browser will look and feel more like Chrome and Firefox and will support extensions. Sams also reported Monday that Microsoft has two different versions of Trident in the works, which also seemingly supports the claim that the company has two different Trident-based browsers.

If they can run Firefox extensions then I will try it. I need adblock+ and Whirlpool+ but somehow I think it is unlikely that MS will let that happen.

" has two different Trident-based browsers."

Looks like Microsoft is carrying the same trend as in Windows 8 / 8.1 which also has two versions of Internet Explorer. :thumbs_down At least Windows 10 Preview at present only has the one desktop IE version.

Chief among the plans for Spartan is new inking support that allows Windows 10 users
to annotate a web page with a stylus and send the notes and annotations to a friend or colleague.
...
A second major feature for Spartan will be the integration of Microsoft’s Cortana digital assistant. Microsoft is planning to use Cortana to surface information on flights, hotel bookings, package tracking, and other data within the traditional address bar. If you use Cortana to track a particular flight and start to search for "American Airlines" in the browser address bar, it will automatically display tracked flights and allow Spartan users to view the status of the flight directly.
...
Other features include a new way to group tabs together to declutter the occasionally messy interface of multiple browser tabs.

Dunno...:cheating:
