The Federal Opposition has marked the first anniversary of Kevin Rudd's political execution as prime minister by accusing his assassin of failing to achieve anything of substance during her 12 months in power.
As Julia Gillard sought to counter a predictable onslaught on her record as PM by announcing a historic deal with Telstra, Tony Abbott and his frontbench rounded on her for being worse than Mr Rudd.

Is she? :?

Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd would be the only Labor frontbencher in Queensland left with a safe seat if an election were held today, based on recent Newspoll figures.
Analysis of polls conducted over the past three months and published in today's Australian newspaper also suggests Opposition Leader Tony Abbott is now the preferred prime minister among Queenslanders.
It is the first time Mr Abbott has been in that position since becoming opposition leader in late 2009.
The opinion poll also shows satisfaction with Prime Minister Julia Gillard in Queensland dropping from 41 to 29 per cent.
...

The Government says it is struggling in the polls partly because of its plan to price carbon.
But Mr Abbott says tensions within the Government are also to blame for Labor's poor opinion poll results.

Hmmm...stirring...

Support for the Federal Government has slumped to an all-time low as the battle lines are drawn on the carbon tax.
The latest Newspoll published in The Australian newspaper shows the Coalition's primary vote has risen three points to 49 per cent.
Support for Labor has dropped three points to an all-time low of 27 per cent.

Carbon is killing Julia.
Carbon tax is killing us.

AUSTRALIAN shares fell almost 1 per cent at the open, as worry about Europe's worsening debt crisis hit and the impending carbon tax continued to worry investors.
