Thanks foxi, but Altona is a little far to travel.

fwiw, I tried to register for the Frankston group several weeks ago and have yet to receive an email from the group person in charge. :eek I think I'll look for another group.

I lived in Altona for a while. It's a 50 minute trip from Dandenong, petrol would cost how much? $25 for a return journey?

It'd make a cheap TV unit. :satisfied

Maybe the Frankston group lost your email - send em another.
EDIT: BTW, did you register from Yahoo Groups? That's all automated - except being accepted by the Moderator of course.

I couldn't believe what I saw, so I threw my hand up and....WOW! I got it.

A Strauss guitar amp cabinet with 4x12" Plessey speakers!!! I can't even pick it up it's that damn heavy. Really solidly built.

I saw one on eBay at the same time, starting bid $250.

I luuuurve freecycle. btw, I am a mod on knoxozfreecycle. :happy

The cabinet was in Casey freecycle.... where I ain't a mod.

I've just joined Casey Freecycle as Casey is where I live. Apparently I was already a member of Yahoo Groups. :eek I don't remember joining, but no matter.

I'm sure the freecycle page that I signed up to wasn't Yahoo Groups though.....hmmmmm:eek2confused:??:?

meh, I'm there now and can start posting my junk or prized possessions for others to pick over. :thumbs_up

It's gonna be hard to bear if no-one wants my good stuff even though I'm giving it away.....:eek

are you left handed and playing right handed - I forget.

A bit of both, more right-handed (normal?), it's hard to change and get good rhythm and timing.

Sooo back to the old 12 bars and variants, Carson Boogie, Booker T's Green Onions, some Hendrix and general blues stuff. Trying lots of 60's and even Tornado's riffs and the like.

I was showing a young neighbor how to play the Peter Gunn theme, takes me waaaaay back. :happy

I smiled at the thought of Peter Gunn. I think it'd be pretty radical trying to play on an opposing hand when you've already learned. Am sure I couldn't do it.

Keep plucking though. Is Mossie doing ok too? Better?

Mossie is improving, cardiac rehab at the local hospital is doing her good. Counselling for the depression is available there too.

With the left/right handed playing, I read that the left side of the brain has more natural rhythm than the right, that's why most people play right-handed. Of course, the other side can learn, but it's like changing hands with writing.

You might notice that most instruments with a dominant hand usage, violin, trombone, drums (notice the right hand does most tempo work as does the right foot on the bass drum), triangle, tambourine, even pianos are designed that way with the higher notes to the right, base (backing notes) to the left, all of these are right handed.

It's difficult, but I can play some chords lefty but my timing is worse than right handed, which needs more work too. Now if you see an old metronome on freecycle.... kick it to me. :happy

Good stuff. Even being with people at the rehab can help lift her spirits.
