Naked ADSL2+ plans

Growing Little Guru
By the end of today Exetel will have activated the ability for new customers
to apply for the new "Naked" ADSL2+ plans.

These plans (prefixed NonPhoneA - E) allow a customer to use an ADSL service
without having to rent a voice telephone line. There are five plans that
start at $50 a month for 56 gb of included downloads through to $105.00 a month
for 96 gb of included downloads. A prospective customer must have an operating
telephone line connected to a Telstra exchange to be able to apply for this
service and once the service is connected the customer will no longer be able
to make calls using that telephone line and the telephone number will no
longer belong to them – and, of course, they will no longer be billed for
telephone line rental.
...
The plans will be available today for new applicants and for current users
early next week.

Hmmm... Not tomorrow.
Not soon.

Looks like real.

Hey, for $50 I get 8GB and no Telstra rental prices almost sounds like a winner to me.

*If I wasn't on my special deal at the moment, on the above plan I'd get faster speed and save at least $1 per day, but conversely I'd only get 8GB compared to my current 20GB's and lose the convenience of a Landline for those occasional long calls to local numbers and very rare long distance calls, not to mention the most frequent number I call is free Mobile to Mobile but they are in such a poor reception position that we use the landline anyway... ??

I think I just talked myself out of this, sorry to have bothered you :poke

At least prices and services are finally heading in the right direction.
