Exetel will begin to offer some VOD service in the near future based on the
following costs and processes:

new release movie cost - $5.95

library movie cost- $3.50

Download in the 12 midnight to 12 noon period

Movie can be watched for a total period of 24 hours within 7 days of
downloading

Billing is at the end of the month as part of your usual
DSL/Telephone/Mobile/VoIP invoice.

Haven't Exetel got enough services to worry about without adding more? LOL I don't think this will really work in the end.

Most of the users ATM of ADSL1 and 2 would be in close proximity of DVD/Video rental stores where they can pop in at most of them on tight arse Tuesday and get them for $2.95 overnight for new releases.

Most users who use Exetel (like I used to be are tight when it comes to forking out (when they can get it cheaper/free)). With Joost available you can get all the Video on demand you can handle and watch it again and again (no 24 hour limit within 7 days) all for free.

Or with TVU etc you can watch pay TV for free as well (but it's live not video on demand) free too.

I really think Exetel may have missed the boat on this one and maybe they shoud throw good money at stuff they know are winners in this competitive environment.
