Cost of repair

Last week the city council's garbage truck damaged our old car.
The man who told us that what has happened did not want to be a witness.
There is no insurance for the car(only third party).
We took it to a garage to give a quote.
$2300 but with discount he would repair it for $1900.
No deal.

Found on eBay a similar CAR for sale in Queensland:$1000
No deal.

City Toyota: the part would cost $360.
No deal.

We went to Centre Rd, found a part for $36.(plus $5 to let us go in for our search)
The car is better than ever before.:thumbs_up

I'm curious to know what part was damaged, that the mechanic wanted $2300 to fix it, but you fixed it for $41!

The back indicator, break, reverse (lights?lamps? dunno how to call it)
Plus a scratch on the side , painted by ourselves with the original paint included with our car.

I see. Damn those trucks!

My property backs onto a laneway and the trucks servicing the shops on the other side damage the rear fence. It's been replaced 3 times in 15 years and the major corner support is damaged again. :tearful
